Save the Children’s Strengthening Disability Inclusive programming organized a one-day learning and sharing session in Liwonde with stakeholders to assess the impact of the technical and financial support. The Senior Operations Manager of Save the Children emphasized the importance of partnering with local organizations they aim to empower the local organizations with financial and technical support.
“The Malawi National Association of the Deaf (MANAD) successfully provided basic sign language trainings to teachers and parents/guardians of deaf children in the Ntcheu, Zomba, Dedza, and Mangochi districts. The training has improved communication and interaction between children, guardians, and special needs teachers.
Some stakeholders that participated in the learning and sharing session include the Malawi Council for Disability Affairs (MACODA), Special Needs Education Coordinators from Ntcheu, Dedza, Neno, Mangochi, and Zomba.
