On Friday the 11th October 2019 we commemorated the International Day of Sign Languages which was shifted from 23rd September 2019. The Minister of Gender and Social Welfare was the guest of honor. Among the invited dignitaries were the Lilongwe City Mayor, UNDP representative, Member of Parliament, Chiefs, heads of Government Departments and NGO representatives. Pictures below were taken from the event which was held at Kaliyeka School ground. In her speech the Minister acknowledged the Finish Association of the Deaf for supporting MANAD developing its Capacities in different areas. MANAD also would like to thank those who contributed to the deaf week and open day budget in different ways such as RITZ Attorneys, Save the Children, Malawi Government, UN women, Montfort College, Starkey Foundation and Ministry of Health for sending Audiologists who conducted free ear screening.
