MANAD Invites the Media to highlight the Importance of Sign Language and to present the Sign Language Dictionary to the Nation
Malawi National Association of the Deaf (MANAD) Called for a press conference on 6 December 2022 at the MANAD office in Chimwankhunda, Blantyre to explain to the nation the importance of sign language and to present the Malawian Sign Language Dictionary.
MANAD told the media that Sign Language is the Language that is commonly used by the Deaf community just like chichewa or any other language and the deaf rely on Sign Language to communicate and as a nation it very important to recognize Sign Language.
The Malawian Sign Language Dictionary will help to bridge the gap between the deaf community and the hearing community. The dictionary will provide the opportunity to the hearing community to gain knowledge on Malawian Sign Language
