On 15th October, the Nguludi Women’s Club from the Chiradzulu branch of the Malawi National Association of the Deaf (MANAD) held a meeting focused on business empowerment and development strategies.

Esther Mbewe, Chair of the Chiradzulu MANAD Women’s group, shared that the meeting centered on income-generating activities such as selling doughnuts and fried Irish potato chips. These initiatives aim to enhance financial independence for the women involved.

Additionally, Mbewe highlighted the group’s commitment to empowering young women by addressing gender-based violence and strengthening the youth group within MANAD.

Currently, the group has raised K28,360 (approximately 14.98 Euros) through member contributions, which will be used to start a small business for the club. They hold regular meetings every Saturday, where they engage in field garden work, kitchen activities, and workshops.
