In a recent edition of The Nation newspaper, Malonje Phiri, the Program Officer for the Malawi National Association of the Deaf (MANAD), was featured in the “My Turn” column. In the article, Malonje passionately highlighted some of the key challenges faced by the deaf community in Malawi, particularly in realizing and exercising their rights as citizens. Through this platform, he shed light on the persistent barriers to inclusion, accessibility, and representation that continue to hinder full participation of deaf individuals in national life.
